Non-TRS and TDP political workers on Wednesday destroyed a wine-shop near Baghlingampally Housing Board MIG colony. The women of the area also joined the stir against the government’s new liquor permit policy.
Raising anti-government slogans, the political activists, including GHMC Standing Committee member Prabhakar Reddy, CPM leader Srinivas, BJP leader Bharat Goud, YSRCP leader Ashok Kumar, CPI leader Sudhakar ransacked and set fire to the wine shop.
Even some advocates, including Roopa Singh, Rajendra Prasad, Mahesh and others participated in the program while opposing ‘new-liquor permit policy’ introduced by the government.
However, area police Inspector Sridhar, who rushed to the spot, said a case would be registered against those indulging in violence.
