New Delhi, January 08: A 22-year-old Polish woman was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here with a fake visa and passport while she was about to fly to Beijing, police said Sunday.
Marzeena Bartosik was to board an Air China flight Saturday night.
‘The passport she was carrying was counterfeit. The Indian multiple visa no. Y 826165 issued at Oslo from Nov 16, 2011 to Nov 15, 2012 pasted on page no. 35 of the passport too was counterfeit,’ a police officer said.
Bartosik visited Varanasi, Jaipur and Agra and stayed at various hotels.
She told the immigration officials that she also visited London and Abu Dhabi from Poland.
‘After visiting Abu Dhabi, Bartosik reached Kathmandu on Dec 25 and stayed at Yatri Hotel and went to other places, including Kaplivastu,’ said the officer.
She then crossed into India on New Year’s eve from an immigration check post in Sunauli on the India-Nepal border.
Bartosik told immigration officials that she received the visa online.
A case of cheating, forgery and violation of Foreigners Act has been lodged against her.
