Police vigilance against gau rakshaks demanded on the occasion of Baqra-eid

Mumbai: A delegation of All Malegaon Jamiatul Quraish led by MLA Asif Shaikh Rasheed called on Minister of State for Home (Rural) Deepak Kesarkar on Wednesday and demanded to tighten noose against gau rakshaks who take the law into their hands on the occasion of Baqra-eid. Citing the lynching cases of Ansari, Pehlu Khan and Akbar Khan in the name of gau raksha, he said the cow vigilantes will again become active as the Eid-ul-Azha is around the corner. Taking law into their hands, they beat Quraishis, seize vehicles. The delegation demanded tight vigilance and strict action against them.

According to the calendar, Eid-ul-Azha will continue from August 22 to 24.

After listening to the delegation Minister of State for Home Deepak Kesarkar immediately called district task force and asked to convene a meeting under the chairmanship of MLA Asif Shaikh Rasheed. He asked to keep eye on law and order so that no untoward incident could occur.
