Police uses baton charge and fire water cannons at Congress protesters in Indore

Indore Police used a mild lathicharge and fired water cannons at workers of the National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) who were protesting outside the Public Service Commission (PSC’s) office over the alleged Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) Scam.

The protesters demanded the resignation of Madhya Pradesh (MP) Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said that they will continue to protest until Chouhan resigns.

The police later had fired water cannons and also used mild lathicharge to control the crowed who clashed with them while marching on the street during their protest.

The Madhya Pradesh Recruitment Scam or Vyapam Scam pertains to manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), which is being probed by the Special Task Force (STF).

The STF had on December 18, lodged two FIRs against former State Technical Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma and 129 others in connection with alleged irregularities in the examination for the recruitment of Grade II and III Contractual Teachers conducted by MPPEB. (ANI)
