In the backdrop of the murder of Mohammed Javeed a printing press owner in Chatta Bazar by a private financer, police sprung into action against the financers and simultaneous raids were organized under 17 police station limits arresting 80 financers.
During the process, South Zone Police and Task force team tried to conduct search in Hamza bin Omer alias Zafar Pahelwan’s house where Zafar Pahelwan allegedly prevented police from taking action which resulted in tension. Police arrested Zafar Pahelwan under section 353 of IPC (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty). Zafar Pahelwan’s two sons Ali and Sayeed had reportedly assaulted a mobile phone shop owner son of advocate Subhani in Husaini Alam as a result a case has been booked against them under section 324.
Police also made a search in the house of Zafar Pahelwan’s nephew (sister’s son) Mohammed bin Yousuf alias Bada Mohammed but he escaped before police’s arrival. Another team of police conducted raid on the house of Zafar Pahelwan’s nephew (brother’s son) Chota Mohammed and recovered land documents and cheques obtained against the loan.
