Hyderabad, February 9: An incessant series of police harassment continues in the twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad attributing it to the precaution in connection with flag tying on the occasion of Milad un Nabi celebrations. Complaints have been received since the 1st of Rabi ul Awwal from several areas particularly from the Muslim predominant areas of old city that police are obstructing the tying of flags referring to the communal violence erupted previous year.
As per the information received, in the areas where the flags have been tied they have been removed by the police with the help of municipality.
It may be noted that Eid Milad un Nabi has been observed with much fervor for the past three years in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. But this time on the pretence of communal tension strict restrictions are being imposed by the police for Eid Milad un Nabi celebrations.
It is said that acting upon the verbal orders issued by the high officials local police are preventing youth from tying flags.
This act of police sparked ire among the youth of twin cities.
It has been reported that police have not only prevented the youth from tying the flags in some places but the posters are also snatched away by the police.
