Mainpuri: A sub-inspector of Uttar Pradesh Police allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence here, the police said today.
Sub-inspector Radharaman Yadav, 42, was missing for the past two days and yesterday his body was found hanging in the bathroom of his residence, a senior police official said.
The deceased SI was suspended for allegedly sending a vulgar SMS to a woman.
His suspension was later revoked and he was transferred to the Police Lines from Kishni police station (where he was earlier posted), SP Rajesh S told PTI.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a probe is on, he added.
