Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy said that all police stations are being interlinked through Crime Control Tracking System which would be operational in a couple of months. Addressing a press conference in Krishna District headquarters, Machilipatnam, today, he said the Crime Control Tracking System is being installed at cost of Rs.100 crore.
All police stations in the state, including the police headquarters in Hyderabad, would be interlinked, enabling to pass information quickly which would minimize crime rate, he explained. The DGP informed six more marine police stations are coming up in the district in addition to the existing six marine stations. The 180 police sub-divisions are being reorganized assembly constituency wise, Mr Dinesh Reddy said and added though Maoists activists in the state had come down, intense combing operations are being continued. Replying to a question, the DGP said the police would take action on liquor syndicates if they received report from the Anti Corruption Bureau. There is a proposal to provide promotions to police officers batch-wise, he said. Earlier, the DGP inaugurated a police outpost at Mopidevi in the district.
He also visited some other places, including Hanuman Junction.
Eluru Range DIG, in-charge, G Suryaprakasha Rao and Vijayawada Urban Police District Commissioner N Madhusudhana Reddy accompanied the DGP. UNI
