Police should be sensitized to deal with Minorities

According to Major Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin Quadri of “Help Hyderabad” a two day national conference of State Minorities Commissions was held on 13th & 14th March at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Mr. M.K. Narayanan, former National Security Advisor, presently working as Governor. of West Bengal.

The participants of the conference stressed upon the need to sensitize police personnel in dealing with the cases of Muslims and other Minorities. Mr. Salman Khursheed, Minister for Minorities Affairs told that despite reforms in police, no initiative has been shown to improve the functioning of police. Mr. Ved Marwah, farmer police commissioner of Delhi and Governor of Jharkand, also addressed the delegates of the conference.

He had studied the post Godhra incidents, Mr. Anand Mutangal (CBI) MP Mr. I.Ali Shah, Chairman W.B. Minorities Commission, Mr. Liaquat Ali, Chairman, UP Minorities Commission and Mr. Nausheed Ahmed, Chairman, Minorities Commission, Bihar also attended the conference.
