Police Shocked over Father Raping, Killing Daughter–ASP

District Additional Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepthi has lamented that the incident of a father raping and killing his own daughter was really disheartening.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Deepthi expressed shock stating that nobody would expect that a father will commit such a heinous crime. “It is an inhuman action and I have no words to speak on it”, ASP bemoaned.

She said that Megavath Kamal behaved like an animal and forgot that he was a human being. One could lose belief on humanity when such incidents took place and suggested the women not to believe men 100 percent at any cost. The women and girls should always be careful and the girls needed to learn self protection techniques, she said opining that there is a need for change in the society.

The ASP said that she was feeling proud for cracking the case within 24 hours time. She said that Megavath Kamal tried to mislead the police in the case but his attitude was suspicious from the beginning. The facts would come out after the detention and interrogation. She said that Kamal spoke full of falsehood during the interrogation and the police traced out the case while examining the scenes recorded in CCTV at Vikarabad Railway Station.

The police department was in shock while knowing that the father himself committed a heinous crime by raping and killing his own daughter Simran (14 years) belonging to Ijrachittempally Thanda in Mominpet mandal in Rangareddy district.
Speaking on this occasion, the culprit Megavath Kamal admitted that he committed the heinous crime under the impact of liquor. He killed his daughter expecting that his prestige will be demolished if his daughter tells about the incident to his wife and to the people of the village. ‘My daughter pleaded not to kill her” he said.
Reacting on the incident, Megavath Kamal’s relatives, however, alleged that the police made him to tell the same by beating him. It is learnt that his wife was not in a position to speak on the incident. (NSS)
