The Hyderabad Police on Monday sought 15-day custody of the suspected ISIS recruit was arrested for allegedly trying to leave the country to join the Middle-East terror group for custodial interrogation.
According to sources, police sought the 32-year-old Hyderabad-based engineer’s custodial interrogation, saying he was required to be quizzed to ascertain the identities of other members and to interrogate him for engaging in terrorist acts against a country.
Salman who was arrested at RGIA when he was on his way to Dubai to reach Syria to join ISIS for training. He was sent to judicial custody on January 16. He was arrested under specific sections of the IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the IT Act.
Cyberabad Police and Officials of Intelligence Bureau (IB) felt that they did a marvelous job by nabbing Salman, a propagandist of the ISIS ideology, as he could have been dangerous since he was actively plotting terror activities in India.
