Hyderabad, December 02: The Asifnagar police on Friday arrested a notorious vehicle offender and recovered seven stolen motor bikes from his possession.
According to police, the accused – 39-year-old Mohd Nazeer Ahmed, was arrested during a routine check-up near Yadav Bhavan at Gudimalkapur crossroads on Thursday evening while he was riding a stolen bike. During interrogation, Nazeer confessed of having stolen six other bikes from different parts of the city. At his instance, police recovered a total of seven bikes worth Rs 2.80 lakh.
Of seven bikes, three were stolen from Asifnagar police limits, two from Tappachabutra and one each from Nampally and Humayun Nagar police station limits. Police say that Nazeer, an auto-driver and resident of Kishanbagh, was a habitual vehicle offender. Earlier, he was arrested in theft cases in the limits of Nampally, Rajendernagar and Pahadishareef police stations.
The case was investigated by inspector Mohammad Abdul Jaweed, SI Ramaswamy, ASI Sri Hari and personnel of the Asifnagar police station.
