Few villages from Kondapaka and Koti mandals have taken up agitation path wishing not to submerge their villages in Mallanna Sagar project. People from Pallipahad, Vemulaghat villages from Koti mandal and Erravalli, Singaram villages from Kondapaka mandal have proceeded towards Rajiv Rahadari to stage rasta roko but the police obstructed them leading to tension. The police have fired in air and used lathi in retaliation to the stone pelting of agitators. Severe tension gripped in the villages and people from all four villages gathered at Erravalli village. The elders, women and children participated in the agitation. (NSS)
