Jaipur, March 12: A local court today remanded the four Rajasthan police officials, who were arrested yesterday in connection with the alleged fake encounter of a criminal Dara Singh here, to CBI remand till March 16.
The accused inspectors Nisar Khan and Naresh Sharma, Assistant Sub Inspector Surendra Singh and Sub Inspector Satyanarayan Godara were produced before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (CBI), from where they were remanded to the CBI custody.
The policemen were allegedly involved in the killing of Singh here on October 23, 2006. The case was handed over to CBI last year following a Supreme Court order.
Dara Singh’s family members had alleged that the encounter, which took place in Mansarover area here, was fake.
Family members of the accused alleged that the police officials were victims of a political conspiracy.
