A team of 47 Foreign Police Officers from 21 countries visited the office of the Director General of Police, Telangana State here today.
They are in India as part of 12 week training programme at National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi.
Sudeep Laktakia, Satyanarayan both Additional Director Generals of Police, and K. Sreenivasa Reddy, IG Training and other senior police officers welcomed the team.
The team reached Hyderabad for a 4 day visit from February 23 to 27 as a part of study tour to the SVP National Police Academy, Forensic Science laboratory, Telangana State police Academy.
The officers of this team hails from Afghanistan, Botswana, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Grenada, Indonesia, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lithuania, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Philippines, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, El-Salvador and Bosnia-Herzogovina.
The DGP and other senior police officers briefed them about the functioning of State Crime Record Bureau, Finger print bureau and also explained them about the functioning of Grey Hounds etc., Further, the IT initiatives in Telangana state police such as e-cops, police face book, Global Positioning System, crime mapping, Hawk-eye for women safety were also explained.(NSS)
