A police official here was arrested today in connection with murder case of a person, related to state Commercial Taxes Minister C Ve Shanmugam, police sources said.
Kumar, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was arrested this evening and was being taken to a court in Chengalpet,
they said.
The CBI had last week arrested former MP K Dhanraj and one Shivakumar in this case.
Muruganandham was allegedly murdered by a group of persons, while Shanmugam and others were attacked near the minister’s house in Tindivanam on May 8, 2006.
The Madras High Court had transferred the case to the CBI last year.
