Hyderabad, July 29: The Andhra Pradesh Police Officers’ Association president, Mr K.V. Chalapathi Rao, has condemned the unparliamentary language used by the senior TRS leader, Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy, against the police personnel at the Yashoda Hospital, Malakpet where Chakali Srinivas, an ardent supporter of Telangana, succumbed to injuries after he immolated himself for the cause of separate Telangana.
Speaking to mediapersons at the AP Police Officers’ Association office here on Wednesday, Mr Chalapathi Rao, strongly condemned the abusive language used by Mr Nayani Narsimha Reddy against the police at the hospital and demanded that he tender an unconditional apology to the police officers within two days, failing to do so, legal proceedings would be initiated. Mr Rao said that such an unparliamentary language was intended to incite the common people against the police personnel who were discharging their legitimate duties.
He urged all the people, including the people’s representatives, to understand the sacrifices made by the police and not to treat the police as their enemy. He also said that if the people cooperated with the police and remained calm, there was no need for them to resort to lathi-charge and teargas. Though the State police commands great respect in other parts of the country for their diligent work, he lamented that the police are treated as enemies in their home State, he added.
Before the start of the media conference, the police officers paid homage to Chakali Srinivas for his supreme sacrifice for the Telangana cause.
