Hyderabad, December 31: The State police today offered to provide protection for resorts and hotels to organise New Year parties across Telangana region on December 31 night, in the wake of Joint Action Committee of students appealing to public not to celebrate New Year eve.
Additional Director General of Police (law and order) AK Khan stated that the police will neither encourage nor discourage any hotel or resort to organise a new party but will provide required security upon prior request as part of their duty.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, AK Khan said that the Government has already deployed additional forces across the region in view of agitation for separate Telangana.
About 48 companies of Central Reserved Police Forces are on duty in Telangana region to ensure peace and public order, he said. The senior IPS officer also assured to provide security to various companies including IT and film industries upon request in the wake of T-struggle.
He wanted the producers of film industry to inform the police in advance for organising their shooting.
The bandh was observed peacefully across Telangana region excluding a few sporadic incidents especially in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits. Nearly 900 persons including leaders of major political parties were arrested during the bandh.
