Jaipur: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which reinvestigated the Pehlu Khan lynching case after a trial court acquitted all accused in the matter has prepared the report based on its investigations. The team was is likely to be submitted it on Tuesday.
After an Alwar court acquitted all six persons accused in the case on the benefit of the doubt, the SIT was set up to reinvestigate the matter. Pehlu was lynched to death by cow vigilantes in 2017. They accused him of smuggling cattle.
As reported by the Times of India, SIT has found many lapses in the probe. It found that the video recording of the alleged lynching was not even produced as evidence before the trial court despite the police having the mobile phone in its possession. The team has also found negligence by police and authorities.
In its report, SIT will mention evidence gathered against accused in case. It will also reveal the irregularities found in Pehlu Khan Case investigation.
