Hyderabad, December 29: The city police are making plans to pick up students and suspected trouble-mongers ahead of the submission of the Srikrishna panel report on Dec 31. Many battalions of central security forces have already arrived in the city.
City police commissioner AK Khan told reporters that if necessary, preventive arrests will be made. He said 18 companies of paramilitary forces will be stationed in Hyderabad besides the local police to crackdown on people indulging in violence. “Police will act tough if anyone is found taking law into their hands, including damaging private property and stone pelting,” he said.
“We told managements of hotels and restaurants to engage private personnel for inside security.
Police will provide external security,” Khan said.
Bakeries are allowed to remain open till 1 a.m on January 1, the commissioner said.
