Dubai, August 13: Dubai Police are searching for a man who ran away from a hit-and-run car crash on Wednesday after he allegedly lost control of his speeding car, hitting three people waiting at a bus stop, killing one of them.
A teenage boy died in another crash on Wednesday when his unlicensed friend, also a teenager, drove his father’s car and crashed into another.
The first accident took at place near bin Eid Al Shaabi restaurant in Dubai at around 6am, Salah Bu Farousha, Head of the Dubai Traffic Prosecution told Khaleej Times.
The unidentified driver in the hit-and-run crash lost control over his speeding car which swerved to the right and hit three people who were waiting at a bus stop.
A 24-year-old Pakistani national died on the spot.
Another Pakistani man and a woman who were standing beside the victim sustained serious injuries and are in hospital.
Bu Farousha said that the unidentified driver who caused the accident left his car at the accident scene and ran away on foot.
He said that the Dubai Public Prosecution have ordered the arrest of the fugitive car driver .
The second accident which took place at Hatta road near Mizeri area around led to death of young man.
Around 9am the 16-year-old UAE national accompanied by his Emirati friend, a 15-year-old, drove his father’s Land Cruiser without having a driving license.
He entered the main road suddenly without indicating and hit another car, driven by another friend in his teens who did not have a driving license. He sustained moderate injuries and is recovering.
Both the 16-year-old and 15-year-old sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Rashid Hospital.
The passenger died around 11am after the accident due to his severe injuries.
Bu Farousha said that the families are bearing the responsibilities of the tragic accidents.
“Parents should monitor their children and not allow them to drive cars without having a driving license,” he said.
“This behaviour will endanger the life of road users.”
He said that the police and traffic prosecutors are trying to their best to prevent such kind of acts by taking strict penalties, but families have a crucial role to prevent such kinds of acts.
It comes after a 17-year-old Emirati was killed and his two friends accompanying him were seriously injured in a crash on Emirates Road on Tuesday.
In another incident on Emirates Road on Sunday, two crashes occurred in the same place killing a Pakistani truckdriver and a 20-year-old Emirati.
