Hyderabad, September 28: The Teachers Poru Garjana meeting in Nalgonda turned into a virtual battlefield as supporters of Minister Komati Reddy and MP Guta Rajagopala Reddy clashed with the teachers even as police resorted to lathicharge to disperse them and bring the situation under control. Trouble started when the Minister and Mr Reddy went to participate in the meeting. As they were speaking, the teachers, resenting the two elected representatives not resigning for the cause of Telangana State so far, hurled footwear and water bottles at them. The supporters of the Minister and the MP protested and later, the place turned into a vertiable battlefield. In the melee, the teachers threw chairs on the Congress leaders supporters. To bring the situation under control, the police, present in large numbers, took to caning.
