Hyderabad, May 09: ACB officials caught red-handed a Police Inspector today at his residence in Visakhapatnam while accepting a bribe of Rs two lakh from a complainant for doing an official favour.
According to a press release here, the tainted amount was recovered from Balivada Venkata Guru Prasada Rao. The accused was arrested and would be produced before III Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge for ACB Cases, Visakhapatnam. In another case, Kanchanbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna Reddy was caught red-handed by the ACB officials in Hyderabad when he accepted Rs 10,000 as a bribe from a complainant for providing bail in a case against the family members of the complainant.
The tainted amount was also recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and produced before Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
