New Delhi: A Delhi Police PCR van team foiled a robbery bid by arresting a man who, along with four others, allegedly broke into an electronics store and stole more than a 100 mobile phones in Patel Nagar.
Rahul and his accomplices broke into the shop in Prem Nagar on the night of March 24, police said.
The gang came in a stolen car and stole 3 LED TVs and 110 mobile phones after breaking the shutters of the shop, police said.
A PCR van on patrol duty spotted the gang as they attempted to make a getaway. A passerby who was trying to take out his car blocked the thieves’ way.
The PCR staff managed to overpower Rahul with the help of the locals, but the others managed to escape.
A country-made pistol and the stolen booty was recovered from Rahul’s possession.
