Police atrocities have begun after the riots hit incident of Sabzi Mandi. Police failed to identity the culprits who hatched the conspiracy of communal violence. Policemen entered the house of Mohammed Ghouse where marriage was being performed. They searched the house and abused women. Ms. Shahana, sister of Mohammed Ghouse made this complaint. She had come to her brother’s house to attend marriage function. She alleged that police entered the wedding house to arrest Mohammed Ghouse. They searched the belongings opening the almirahs. They didn’t care for the women who were asleep. The policemen barged into the house abusing the inmates. Policemen insisted on entering the room where the bride was sitting. Despite her several requests, policemen insisted on entering the room. When bride was shown to them, they kept quiet. The bride had to walk in Sabzi Mandi area to get transport. She complained about the merciless behavior of the police. She questioned, “Why don’t they send women police constables for searching the house?” Police can perform its duties but they should behave within the limits of morality.
She told that about a dozen policemen barged into the house when cooking for wedding was in progress. They ridiculed the items that were being cooked. Another young man, Mr. Mohammed Nawaz also complained about the harassment and abuse the policemen did.
