Police deny Jharkhand killing a case of cow lynching, blame victim’s criminal record

Jharkhand: PM’s recent statement condemning “Gau bhakhts” created ripples in the entire country. After his statement, people expected that it would check the activities of cow vigilantes but it failed to do so.

In an incident after his statement, a Muslim was lynched to death by cow vigilantes in Jharkhand.

It may be mentioned that on Thursday, people in the name of ‘Gau Bhakti’ lynched one innocent Muslim, Alimuddin alias Asgar Ali to death on suspicion of carrying beef. This incident occurred in tand area of Sadar police station limits of Ramgarh district of Jharkhand.

According to the reports, villagers attacked a Maruti van after getting information that beef is being transported in it. At the time of the attack, there were three people in the van. They brutally beat Alimuddin whereas the other two persons managed to escape. They also set the van ablaze. It is also reported that he was being chased after he left the house.

According to the report published in TOPYAPS, in a twist to the case, Jharkhand police stated that the motto behind Alimuddin’s killing was not cow meat. They also expressed suspicion that his previous criminal record might be the reason.

According to police, Alimuddin was earlier chargesheeted in a case of kidnapping and murder of a child. FIR against 10 persons has been filed and they will be arrested soon.
