The Nampally Criminal Court here on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of Hindu pontiff Kamalananda Bharathi Swamiji, who was arrested on the charge of delivering a hate speech after the arrest of MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi.
The court also passed orders giving custody of the Hindu religious leader to the police for two days from Thursday for interrogation.
Meanwhile, senior national BJP leader and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya has accused the Congress government of foisting false cases against Kamalananda Bharathi Swamiji. Today, the State BJP leaders Baddam Balreddy and Venkat Reddy met Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji in the Charlapalli Central Jail during the “Mulakhat” .
Speaking at the jail, the BJP leaders severely condemned the action of the State government against Kamalananda Bharathi and dumping in jail on false charges instead of taking severe action against the MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi who had made highly controversial remarks against Hindus, their traditions and Hinduism.
Stating that the government’s action against Kamalananda Bharathi Swami injured sentiments of the Hindu community, the BJP leaders demanded that the Congress government withdraw the cases against the Hindu pontiff, otherwise, the party would be constrained to intensify agitation from the mandal level in the State.
They demanded that the government withdraw the false cases and release the Swamiji honorably.
