Police constable marries most wanted criminal in Bihar

Patna: Anybody can fall in love but using brains to fall in love is completely out of question. With many unusual love stories being unfolded, what if our very own protectors, public servants fall for criminals risking our security.

A strange love story which ended in marriage between a police constable and a criminal is putting forth questions of for her misconduct.

The constable, who married the criminal, has been sacked from police service for bringing disrepute to her profession.

Preeti Kumari woman constable was posted as an arms guard in Sitamarhi at Mahila Police Station in North Bihar.

She has married Mitu Shah a criminal after she met him in 2016. Anyhow the news spread like fire which made the SP intervene the matter ordering an investigation of the same.

On confirming the news by the on duty special duty officers she was suspended by the SP and later transferred to Bhagalpur.

A source said, “During the investigation, it came to light that Preeti shared several confidential information with the most wanted criminal with whom she tied the nuptial knot. Her action eroded public’s faith in the system and brought disrepute to the entire police force”.

Preeti was also issued show cause notice asking her to answer why the department should not sack her for her misconduct.

According to the sources “Her reply was found to be far from satisfactory. On June 9, the Sitamarhi SP recommended that she be sacked from the police service. A letter to this effect was forwarded to the Bhagalpur Senior SP (SSP) Manoj Kumar under whose jurisdiction she was serving as constable. “The SSP on June 13 issued her termination order,” Deccan Herald reported.
