Police conducts cordon search operation in ‘Puranapul’

Hyderabad: South Zone Police conducted cordon search operation in Pardiwada of Puranapul area. The local fruit merchants protested against police search which resulted in tension in the area. A team of 350 policemen suddenly started cordon search operation at 4 p.m. yesterday. The police raided many fruit godowns in which carbide and other chemicals were being used for ripening mangos. Police seized large quantities of chemicals from 6 godowns.

It is reported that this operation was started under the stewardship of DCP of South Zone, Mr. V. Satyanarayana. During this operation, 23 motorcycles were seized which did not have the relevant documents. Two suspected persons were taken into custody. Police also arrested a person who was selling wine. A large quantity of wine was seized from his possession.

ACP of Charminar Police, Mr. Ashok Chakravarti told that cases were registered against 3 persons who were using chemicals for ripening mangos. The seized chemicals were sent to forensic laboratory.
