”Police close to identifying culprits in Suri murder case”

Hyderabad, January 14: Police has made progress in the investigations into the killing of Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, and they were almost close to identifying the culprits, a top police official said today.

“There is progress in the (Suri murder) investigation. We are close to almost identifying the culprits and the motive behind the murder,” City Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters here.

The investigators have asked certain persons not to move out of Hyderabad, Khan said.

Suri, a faction leader from Anantapur district in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and the prime accused in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, was shot dead by gunmen in his car in Yousufguda here on January 3 and police strongly suspect his close aide Bhanu Kiran”s involvement in his murder.

Meanwhile, the CCS police which has been investigating the case today recorded the statement of Telugu film producer C Kalyan. Later, speaking to media, Kalyan said though, he knew Bhanu for the past three years, he used to discuss only film-related issues with him.

“Apart from this I have no connection with Bhanu and I have not taken any fund from him for financing my films,” Kalyan added.

Special police teams have already been despatched to Bangalore and other places to nab Bhanu.
