Poonch (J&K), November 09: Police today arrested a youth for indulging in a sacrilegious act by burning the pages of a scripture in Poonch district here.
The youth, who burnt some pages of the religious book near a stream around 10 am in Mendhar town, was taken into custody when he was attempting to burn some more pages in the town about half an hour later, SSP, Poonch, Manmohan Singh said.
Preliminary questioning revealed that he had stolen the book from a place of worship in the town and had also indulged in such an act before, Singh said, adding that the youth appeared to be a person of unsound mind.
Further investigations were going on, Singh said.
