New Delhi: A former colleague of Congress social media team has alleged that a member of the team has sexually harassed her.
According to the Police, the member identified as Chirag Patnaik, was arrested on Monday after a former colleague accused him of molesting her and filed a complaint against him on July 3, DC reported.
The woman left the Congress IT cell ever since the incident said the police. Chirag was later released on bail.
The woman also alleged that Congress’ social media head, Divya Spandana, had refused to take action against Patnaik.
Regarding the allegations: The Social Media Dept has set up an Internal Committee and as per the provisions of the Act the Internal Committee is already investigating the complaint. In view of confidentiality of the investigation no further comments will be made.

The Department has immediately responded to the allegations and said the department has begun an investigation in this matter.

Meanwhile, the BJP party has asked the Delhi police to conduct a thorough probe and demanded strict action against the accused.
