Police arrested six people, including a juvenile boy, in connection with the murder, a week after a youngster was beaten to death by a gang in full public view at Mir Alam Mandi.
According to the police, the accused had attacked Mohd. Nadeem, when he had asked them not to play cricket on the street for the reason that it disturbed his business.
The victim sustained multiple injuries in the attack and had died on the spot after the attack. The arrested men were Mohd. Dawood Khan alias Sohail, Syed Ayazuddin, a rowdy sheeter of Rein Bazaar Police Station, Mohd Aleem, Tareeq Ahmed, Mohd Azhar Khan, and a juvenile.
According to Mirchowk police, the assaulters had plan to attack the victim and collected weapons like daggers and billiard sticks on January 21. They attacked Nadeem at his shop. The victim’s aide was also injured when he tried to stop the attackers.
The Kabir Snooker Parlour at Bibi Bazaar was raided by the Police and arrested the accused. A case was booked against the assaulters under Section 302 (for murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 120-B (criminal conspira-cy) and 147( rioting) of IPC.
