In the wake of protests arising out of the fake encounter of Viqar Ahmed and four of his companions, police registered cases of violence and is arresting the youths from Old City indiscriminately. Police is in search of Mohammed Adil against whom Bhavani Nagar Police Station has registered two cases of thefts.
It is reported that special police team of south zone and task force has arrested many youths from Chandrayangutta, Bhavani Nagar, Talab Katta, Nasheman Nagar and other areas. They have been kept at unknown places. Police registered 11 cases of stone pelting.
Some of the Muslim leaders telephoned the youths from Saidabad locality not to agitate. As a result of which the protest turned violent. Those leaders have threatened that if they do not follow their instructions, they will be implicated in police cases and no legal aid would be provided. The presence of Muslim leaders in the funeral procession of Viqar Ahmed was helpful in controlling the mob from raising slogans. Police is now satisfied that the so-called Muslim leaders are exhibiting their vested interests. Hence the police is vigilant against those youths who are not under the control of Muslim leadership.
