Police Arrest Three Laptop Thieves

Dubai, August 27: Dubai Police arrested the main suspect and two others, in connection with the 35 laptops stolen from cars in parking lots since April.

Colonel Ahmed Al Merri, Director of Criminal Investigation Department said that after four months the police have managed to solve the issue.

The police suspected a 45-year-old Asian who was seen roaming around the cars and on a search found a small hammer hidden in his on his body. During interrogation the thief said, “I cannot resist seeing luxury bags and laptops from the outside.” 
 He confessed that he committed 35 crimes. The main suspect also confessed that he had stolen mobile phone accessories. He said that he sold the laptops to other two Asians who specialise in such items. These men were also taken into police custody. Al Marri said the suspect who works with a cargo company has been in the UAE since 2006. The laptops were alledgedly re-sold for Dh1,500-Dh2,000.
