Moga, Augusr 20: Police today, after procuring production warrants, again arrested NRI Jagdev Singh who was granted bail yesterday by the court in an alleged case of submitting false deocuments to procure police clearance certificate to get Canadian citizenship.
Police registered another case under section 467 IPC (forgery) against the NRI.
Police again produced Singh in the court seeking police remand of the NRI.
The defence counsel opposed the police plea of registration of another case.
The court did not agree for granting police remand.
When the court time was over the CJM left the court then the police produced the accused in the court of duty magistrate.
The duty magistrate also not agreed for police remand and sent the accused for fourteen days judicial remand.
The accused was also figured in murder of former MLA Nachattar Singh Gill, who is also father of Punjab DGP P S Gill, murder in October 1991.
The accused after the incident left the country after allegedly seeking fake passport to settle in Canada.
He was also declared proclaimed in April 1992.
He returned back to Moga after 17 years and he was arrested by the police.
Singh had already gone 10-day police remand and 14-day judicial custody in the case.
