Minister for Major Irrigation P Sudershan Reddy today said that the government will take necessary measures in seven days with regard to rehabilitation and rescue of people of seven villages being affected due to Polavaram project in West Godavari district. He held a high level review with officials and directed them to initiate measures on war footing to help the people being affected. The works related to spill way and dam are on while land was acquired for rehabilitation and rescue measures and Rs 15.63 crores spent towards compensation. (NSS)
