A business delegation from Poland called on Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy here on Monday expressing its interest in setting up food processing units in Telangana State.
The minister briefed the Poland delegation on the new industrial policy of Telangana, especially the incentives being offered to investors. Speaking to media persons later, he said investors from Poland have expressed serious interest in setting up food processing units in the State and their proposal would be taken to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for approval. He said huge investment offers have been pouring in since KCR announced State’s new industrial policy.
The minister also informed that the State Government was encouraging micro-irrigation at a large scale. He said that the government was also making efforts to increase the production of onions in the State and a meeting has been convened with onion farmers on August 14. (INN)
