Poets call for peace at Jashn-e-Baharan

New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India S Y Quraishi presided over the mushaira organised by Jashn-e-Baharan Trust at Delhi Public School. Founder of Jashn-e-Baharan Kamna Prasad delivered the keynote address. Pandit Birju Maharaj attended as the chief guest. Ex-deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said that mushaira is the best way to expresses our feelings.

Dr Abdullah Abdullah (US), Farhat Shahzad (US), Dr Taqi Abidi (Canada) Prof. Swema (Japan), Omer Salam Al-Eidrous (Saudi Arabia), Jalal Azeemabadi (Bangladesh), recited their poetry. Among Indian poets, Prof. Waseem Barelvi, Popular Meerthi, Shabina Adeeb, Laxmi Shankar Vaj Shankar Vajpayee, Manzar Bhopali, Gauhar Raza, Deepti Misra, Iqbal Ashhar, Prof. Menu Bakhshi, Rehana Nawab, Dr Liyaqat Jaffery and Husain Hyderi recited their poetry.

Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, Lok Sabha former speaker Meera Kumar, former ambassador M Afzal, Dr Shakeel Ahmed, AMU ex-vice chancellor Zameeruddin Shah, noted poet Alok Srivastava, Dr M R Qasmi, Badrul Islam, Dr Shabana Nazeer, resident editor Inquilab Dr Yameen Ansari and Rayees Muzaffar Nagri also attended the mushaira.
