Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has alleged that sincere people of the nation fell on the road due to demonetisation of big notes by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and black money holders were roaming on the roads bravely.
Anti-Demonetisation Agitation State Level Implementation Committee met at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday. TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Implementation Committee chairman Ponnala Laxmaiah, convener Mallu Ravi, co-convener Dr D Sravan, MLAs Ch Vamshichand Reddy, SA Sampath Kumar, TPCC general secretary Premlal, State Mahila Congress Chief Nerella Sharada, state Youth Congress chief M Anil Kumar Yadav, NSUI state president B Venkat, SC Cell chairman A Mohan and other members participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that there was not use to the common man with the demonetisation of big notes more so black money holders, fake currency holders and corrupt people benefited with the demonetisation of big notes. He asked the Congress cadre to take the Modi’s decision of demonetisation and his anarchic attitude to the people to create awareness among them.
He said that the party has prepared an action plan to go into people rigorously. He said that the party would conduct extensive executive meeting on January 17 and explain the party activities in it. He said that the party would take up dharna programs at all district head quarters on January 19 under Mahila Congress. On January 20 , the party would take up RBI Gherao as part of nation-wide RBI offices Gherao. Uttam said that they will involve the people affected with the demonetisation of big notes. He said that the party would organise ‘Jana Avedhana Sammelan’ in January last week and invite AICC important leaders to participate in the meeting.
Speaking to the media later, Ponnala Laxmaiah alleged that the Prime Minister helped the looters indirectly by announcing demonetisation of big notes and extended full support to the corrupt people. Questioning the Prime Minister to tell as to why he was failed to announce the list of 640 black money holders and as to why he failed to seize the black money from them, Ponnala alleged that Modi changed his voice saying cashless economy when he failed to seize the black money, fake currency and terrorism. He wondered saying that the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had given money to the poor by nationalising the banks but the present Prime Minister Modi was taken the money from the people. He said that the Congress party will go into the people with nine demands—withdrawal of restrictions imposed on cash from banks; payment of interest of 18 percent on the bank balances till the restrictions are withdrawn; no service charges on chashless (digital) transaction; supply food ingredients at 50 percent cost (under Indian Food Security Act) for one year; enhancement of support price by 20 percent to the produce in this Rabi crop; deposit of Rs.25,000 in the bank accounts of all women below poverty without any restrictions or conditions; payment of higher wages by 100 percent and also increase in working days by 100 percent for one year under MGNREGA; minimum wages to be paid to everyone who could not find work from November 9, 2016 to March 31, 2017; relief on sales tax and income tax to small businesses by 50 percent.
