Bhubaneswar, December 26: Ratnamala Patnaik, mother-in-law of Manmohan Singh’s second daughter, is not sure if she could meet the Prime Minister during his five-hour tour to Orissa tomorrow.
“No one has so far contacted me on the PM’s visit tomorrow. He is coming on a short trip,” said 76-year-old Ratnamala, mother-in-law of Singh’s daughter Daman.
Daman is married to Ashok Patnaik, an IPS officer and a resident of Bhubaneswar.
“Dr Singh came to our house only once during my son’s marriage. His wife had in the past visited Orissa several times. But she too is unable to come here nowadays because of security reasons,” Ratnamala, who came to know about the PM’s visit from television news, said.
Last time when Singh visited the state in August,2006, Ratnamala had met the PM at Raj Bhavan in order to avoid security problem. But this time, she was not sure about the programme.
