Additional Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office Anil Swaroop, along with Telangana Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, on Monday reviewed the Hyderabad Metro Rail works with other seniors officials.
During the meeting, Swaroop reportedly directed the officials to remove encroachments on roads where Metro Rail works are going on. Sources say that the issue of change in Metro Rail design did not figure in the discussions held on Monday. Following objections raised by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the existing design which is feared to cause damage to heritage structure, the HMRL authorities had written a letter to the Chief Minister seeking clarifications. However, the HMRL did not receive any reply from the CMO. Therefore, the issue of change in Metro Rail design did not come up for discussion.
According to sources, Anil Swaroop took strong note of absence of L&T Metro Rail Managing Director VN Gadgil in the review meeting.
HMR MD NVS Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand and other senior officials participated in the meeting. (INN)
