Karachi, May 05: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday dismissed the impression that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was a friendly opposition in the parliament.
“It is totally baseless that PML-N has been acting as a friendly opposition. If it had been the case the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers would not have torched effigies of PML-N leaders in the Punjab,” Shahbaz, told newsmen before leaving for Lahore.
Shahbaz, here on a two-day visit, however, warned that the situation in Balochistan was a matter of serious concern for every Pakistani and it would need a united effort to resolves issues of the province and end the mistrust that existed in the province.
“We must try to unite to improve the situation in Balochsitan that has been worsened due to the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti. Before that unfortunate incident things were not all that bad. The PML-N will play its due role in eliminating trust deficit that at present exists in the minds of the people of Balochistan,” he stated.
He said that by signing the NFC award, in which Punjab has sacrificed for the sake of Balochistan that had been the main beneficiary, itself shows “our commitment towards our Baloch brothers”.
Shahbaz said his main objective of visiting Karachi was to attend Monday’s Punjab Investment Conference and to urge the city industrialists to invest in Punjab offering them all possible facilities.
