PM urges politicos to make best use of Winter Session

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday appealed to all political parties to make the best and optimal use of the limited time available to the two Houses in the Winter Session of the Parliament.

He further said that all urgent financial business would be transacted on a priority basis.

“On behalf of the Government, we will do everything in our power to ensure that both the Houses run smoothly and in this matter, we seek the cooperation of all segments of the two houses,” he told media here today.

Singh asserted that the Government is committed to the formation of Telangana.

“Our government is committed to the formation of Telangana, and it will be our effort to make full use of the due process of law,” he added.

The Winter Session of Parliament will commence from December 5 and last till December 20.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said on Monday that the government is determined to push through the Lokpal Bill and the Women’s Reservation Bill during the session.

Nath also informed that all parties are in agreement that the session will continue for extended hours to expedite pending work.

He also said leaders of all political parties have assured that session will run smoothly. (ANI)
