PM to launch Metro Rail project: Dattatreya

Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Bandaru Dattatreya today asked the Metro Rail authorities to expedite the works of the project and begin services immediately. The union minister who made it Metro Rail project at Nagole depot for the first time said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the project on completion. He said that the metro rail is his dream project began in 2001 and the Centre has allotted Rs 2,500 crore for it and authorities should expedite the works.

Dattatreya interacted with Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy and had the glimpse of the rail and its attractive features that is just ready to chug on the tracks. Dattatreya asked the state government to take initiative so that the metro rail will soon chug on to serve the people. The minister suggested that the state government can settle the issues related to land acquisition for the metro rail works. A discussion with land owners and managements will give positive results he hoped. Dattatreya also stated he will soon meet Chief Minister K Chandraekhar Rao and discuss in detail on the issue. It is likely that the authorities are planning to launch the much awaited project by next October by Dasara festival.

Metro Rail in 2016: NVS Reddy
Speaking the occasion NVS Reddy said that local talent will be given priority to fill up jobs in Metro Rail project. He said that the Metro Rail will be launched next year as first phase of launch was stalled due to technical reasons. Fifty per cent of works were completed so far and pillars are set up along the stretch of 43 kilometers he said. (NSS)
