Hyderabad, July 10: As the July 12 meeting called by the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appears to be floundering with two parties already pulling out, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) today asked the Prime Minister to convene an all-party meeting to evolve a ”common consensus” on the Kashmir issue.
As various groups in J&K were divided on the dialogue process to restore peace and normalcy Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should take the initiative to start the process by taking National parties into confidence, CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechuri told media here.
A tangible dialogue process, the Marxist leader alleged did not start in Jammu and Kashmir despite claims though many anti-national forces were trying to destabilise the government there.
The current violence in Jammu and Kashmir he claimed was resultant of Centre’s failure to keep its promises to Kashmir, the CPI(M) leader claimed.
