Guwahati, February 19: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reviewed the progress of some flagship programmes with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, members of his cabinet and senior officials of the state at Raj Bhavan here during his two-day visit to the state.
The Prime Minister was apprised about the progress made by the state in its revenue, fiscal and primary surpluses from 2005-06 onwards, official sources said.
In the meeting, Assam had availed a debt waiver of Rs 422 crore and debt relief of Rs 661 crore, the sources said.
The status of the agricultural sector of the state was also highlighted, they said.
