Srinagar, October 13: Exuding confidence that the Central government would find solutions to all problems of Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister P Chidambaram today said that this could be achieved through dialogue with every section of society.
“I want to assure you that the Prime Minister is open to dialogue…we mean what we say…with every section. We will absorb all suggestions and try to come to widely acceptable solutions to all underlying problems within a short period of time,” he said.
He said that suggestions for solution to all the problems of Jammu and Kashmir should come from the people of the state and the Central government can help in this process.
“The solution to all problems ? political, economic and others should come from the people. Centre can help but ultimately you must have the confidence to solve the problems,” he said addressing a rally at the Congress headquarters here.
Chidambaram said the “historical and geographical” aspect of the state must be kept in mind before looking for solutions.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to visit the border state later this month. .
