Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said that the Prime Minister will have to engage in a lot of explaining for the failure of his government on several fronts, during his election campaign in Goa on Wednesday ahead of the State Assembly polls on March 3.
Naidu, who is in the city to address BJP meetings, said Manmohan Singh will have to answer people why he could not curtail rising prices, corruption and unemployment.
“The Prime Minister has to tell us what action he has taken against corruption. Why he could not control the price rise and what he has to done to solve the issue of unemployment in the country,” he told reporters.
The PM will be addressing a public rally in North Goa later in the day.
Naidu said the three national issues of — corruption, unemployment and price rise–are crucial to Goa elections too.
The former party president said the Digambar Kamat-led government in the state gave stability without ability.
“The Kamat-led government has failed to govern the state. Winds of change are blowing across Goa,” he said.
Naidu said there was total lawlessness and failure to control crime in Goa and it has taken a toll on its image.
“The Congress ministers themselves had raised concerns on the law and order situation in the state during Kamat’s rule,” he stated citing some instances like that of Union Tourism Minister Kumari Shelja asking the state to mend the security on itsbeaches.
