PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ earns Rs 10 crore for AIR in 2 years

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, a radio programme has earned a revenue of about Rs 10 crore for All India Radio (AIR) in the last two years, a report on Wednesday had informed the Lok Sabha.

As per a report by HT, a revenue of 5.19 crores was generated in 2016-17, while a sum of Rs 4.78 crores was earned in the year of 2015-16, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said in a written reply.

PM’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ is broadcast in 18 languages and 33 dialects after the original version goes on AIR, said Rathore. The minister further added, the English and the Sanskrit versions are also broadcast by the AIR.

Rathore said, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is circulated on transmitters for the domestic audience and through Internet and shortwave (SW) transmitters for listeners in other countries.

The monthly programme was launched on October 3, 2014, where PM Modi addresses the nation.
